Songs of my year...

As the year ends... everyone seems to be compiling lists... so here is my list... 10 songs in no particular order that have captivated my ears my attention and my heart... they all havent been released this year but I have discovered them this year! have a listen and enjoy!!!
Blood - The Middle East
I discovered this track on a Spunk Sampler... and it is truly a treat to listen to. I especially LOVE the glocks and Backing Vocals... also amazed at how awesome the video clip is! beauty on screen! Thanks Australia!
You Really Got a Hold on Me - She and Him
Zooeys and M Wards voices soaked in nostalgia! Beautiful chords! This track screams sentimental! and the lyrics... so true!
Goodnight Rose - Ryan Adams
One of my all time favourites Ryan... this song has so many layers of brillance! I love this live version on youtube... you can never underestimate how cool a live jam session is!
Mirror, Mirror - Whiskeytown
Ryan Adams band from the 90's... say no more! These guys have some awesome materiel... I especially like the catchyness of this number and the backing horns are a treat!
You and I - Wilco featuring Feist
Teaming up with Canada's sweetheart Feist... Tweedy yet again pleases with his pop-esque chords, harmonies and lyrics. I especially love this live performance on letterman... confirming they can both actually sing!
Rosie's Lullaby - Norah Jones
And who said the organ was dead... yet again another amazing live performance!
Mansard Roof - Vampire Weekend
Rhythmical Genius! Also loved the keys and strings combo... the cello is hotness! I feel these guys should be from England not NY! Hapiness in just over 2 minute!
Rosyln - Bon Iver & St Vincent
To all you Twilight Haters... this is a good song... I feel like it just sits there in mid air hanging. soaked in reverb their voices come as one... I like the timing in the vocals as well... not what you expect! just exquisite!
The Moon is a Magnet - Jon Foreman
Yet again Rhythmical Genius! try keep the time signature! truly amazing! I also love his use of the bass clarinet. What are we if were not in love...
Hoppipolla - Sigur Ros
An Orchestral Epiphany! One of the most incredible compositions! there are so many layers to this song... i love the bridge bit where everything changes... along with the percussion and horns... everything is beauty! Their live dvd Heima is a fine piece of art!

Roxie you are brilliant at this sort of thing - and all those tracks you put together as gifts on CDs. Maybe you should be a DJ or a prof reviewer or...
